Where are the photos? - Post ID 153768

I created a site for a friend for her Scottish Dance School. One page contains numerous photos of her students at competition. To display the photos I use "Lightbox". I can get all of the photos to display until I get to IMG_1221.jpg, then the photos don't display.

In the section "2010 Spring Competition", photos 1, 2 and 4 display but there are 17 that don't.

I have double checked and all of the photos have been uploaded. The code on the page is pretty straight forward.

If there is a problem, it is not making itself apparent to me. Any help in this would be appreciated. The URL is here: http://curranschoolofdance.com/gallery.html

Thank you;
Greg

Where are you looking? When I hover the cursor over that image, the link shows jpg in lower case. And the files in the work folder on my PC are lower case. Unless they're upper case on the server? I'll have to wait until i get home this afternoon. I hope that's the case, this has been driving me bats!

Thank you Eric, I appreciate your help.

Just change the JPG on the all the last ones to jpg. Your lightbox code has links with jpg.

Greg,

The full size photos are on your server because I can get them to appear when I click directly on the missing thumbnail images in your page, so the problem is just with your thumbnail preview links being dead. Yet when I inspect the raw HTML I noticed that the files which don't appear in thumbnail view (DSC-3951 through DSC-6073) all have one thing in common, they have "DSC" in the title followed by a dash and then the image number. "DSC" is part of the native title your digital camera assigns to the photos when they are taken. There are a lot of troubleshooting steps I would normally take in this situation, but cannot as I would need to be sitting at your computer, but I would have a look at the folder those files came from on your computer and see if anything is different about the file types/names/sizes. I would check the original resolution of the filenames whose thumbnails are missing and make sure they aren't huge (lightbox has to create these thumbnails from your original materials and some programs have limitations as to how much they can reduce a files size by). I would also want to open up the folder on your server which contains the thumbnail photos (image names followed by underscore and then lower case s, as in "_s") and make sure those files are actually on the server. Any number of things could have happened to prevent them from being saved on the server when you uploaded your lightbox (firewall, software error, user error, etc). You may just have to manually drag the thumbnail images into their respective folder on your hosting server. If that doesn't work, I would also try renaming those images and replacing the dash (-) with an underscore (_). Good luck!
