I need to add a searchable database to a site, basically acting as a library catalogue.

Can anyone suggest a good, simple to install and use, preferably free or very low cost database script or program?

Does Coffee Cup have one?

Edit: We need more chocolate in this forum so there is a chocolate frog for the best answer :)

Oh okay...a big box of yummy chocolates to anyone who can give me some direction.

Would be ideal if there was one that acted a bit like the shopping cart creator or visual site designer but anything that makes it simple would be good.

You're corrupting the forum!
A chocolate war will break out!
Pretty soon the people (Scott, Cary, Inger, Tom, BillR, JoAnn, Janys, Fe, Chad and others...), whose solutions we've always relied on when things get tough, will refuse to answer questions that don't offer chocolate... ;)

Well my tactics are either not working or they are holding out for more chocolate.

Maybe the techies are frantically trying to get a program made for me so they can get the choccies...

Ok,
First, is your website running under Windows or Linux??

Does your web host offer databases?? Many hosts all ready have pre-made scripts for DB's, check with them first.

If under Linux, there are literally thousands of DB's available at either low cost or free to run using PHP and MYSql (if your host allows it)

*thinks that the techies (of which I'm not one unfortunately) are all surfing the web trying to find the best chocolates to blackmail you with* LOL

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
