Adam,

At this point in my life As Cyndi Lauper would
say "Boys, Just Wanna Have Fun"...

I wont miss on single meal if my efforts dont work,
but am learning a lot, and enjoying 99% of it...

From what I'm seeing amongst the companies and private
individuals on the net, trying to do projects, there
is a lot of wide open data available to use in ones
efforts...

Reminds me of the early days of micro processors..
before the folks realized how much money was to be
made, then they just clamed up.... not much more sharing...

I have put in piles of hours since 1rst of this months..
lot of efforts, but with the CC software, gaining knowledge
I see no reason but to have a small little dream of success.

On paper, my sense of humor is bettor....
Couple of years of dealing with Musicians on the PSRTUTORIAL.COM forum....

Beats the heck out of big corporations work environments...

Hello Seeker:

Interesting thread, I also am in that stage of retirement -- started in '69 and have enjoyed (almost) every minute.. always something new. Especially in the programming languages.

I've just started with CC but I am going from it at the html level, need to know how everything is put together. So far the formatting / CSS / div's and other stuff has been frustrating but it's coming pretty good.

You site looks great and has given me a few inspirations and ideas. Anyways good luck for all in the future,, this is the current site i've taken over and in the process of updating.

http://www.buck-a-boo-acres.com

this should be updated by next week.
To others reading this post, i'd like your ideas / comments on the current site, and i'll let all know when the new one is up..

Glenn,

It sounds like you are taking over the site maintenance from someone else? Are they still around so you can ask questions, such as why the address tag on line 18?

I noticed a number of empty tags, such as this starting about line 216:
<address>
<center>&nbsp;</center>
</address>
<address>
<center><b>
</address>

<hr>
</b></center>

Some of the code is in the wrong order, such as line 17 that currently reads:
<p><center><b><font size="+4">BUCK-A-BOO ACRES</font></b></center></p>

I think it would be in correct order if the center tags were outside of the paragraph tags.

All in all, it is a nice looking page, that almost makes this old man want to make a trip. I currently can't bring myself to get that far from my grandsons.

Glen,

I'm not advanced enough as BillR on the internals, which are
very important for the Optimization process for the
SEO ratings...

But like Bill your site right up front is friendly, welcoming
and you know why your there... No distracting things jumping
about...

It is simple as mine, but more inviting... to what you are
doing.... I'm not an experienced coder/builder in this area,
but thru 16 years or so of net use, know what I like...
Dont like busy, dont like to have to ask questions what do
we have here...

Also your map is a nice touch.... Only grey, cause I live
on in slow dialup area... Dont use too many images...
what you're currently using is fine to me...

My site nagigation is via CC flash menu's...which makes
the moving about simple and almost intuitive....
Have a long way to to before site is more or less completed...

Have been working on search engine optimization SEO of
all of my demo's and the site....Lot of grunt work, for
the Flash menu's actually take away from your site ratings.
But with the CC editor, and a lot of their tips, am gaining.

Did a litte Fire Factor Free report last night... and was
very happy except for Accessibility... Failed completely with
a ZERO.....good ratings on other items was working on...
Went to w3c site and checked into the Accessibility problems.
This is not an easy thing to correct...
But after other item completions will look into Alternate
Screen building/display for at least the Homepages..

I'm "maybe" doing this for a few $$$, but after Google's
announcements, that looks a goal thats a lot further away...
The journey with CC tho has been good so far..

Hi Seeker & BillR

thanks for the feedback, yes the current site pages do have a lot of <address> tags. I think I might have done that during a session using the MS visual web or another I was trying -- it converted, was saved and I didn't realize what happened when I uploaded.. Weird stuff!

look for a new posting in this category when I install the new site pages.

I might have a lot of Q???
