I just had the pleasure "NOT" of removing script put on our website by not so nice people. Not exactly sure how they got to put it there, but our housting supplier suggested they could get in through FTP. All a bit over my head.
I was informed by a customer that our site was listed by Google as unsafe. Lucky she was a good customer to let us know.
Does anyone know of anything to scan our web pages online for malware so we dont have to go through the embarrassment of being blacklisted before you know it . Or anyother suggestions of protection.

Hi Fe Pixie
www.sportsense.com.au

I have removed the scripts and Google have given it a stamp of approval.

I was realy just wanting to make people aware of this type of thing happening and if there was any suggestions of prevention.

Thanks

Brian

had a quick look - i cant see anything glaringly unsafe there Brian... Did you have a form or something they could have used to upload? Did you have any other code packages installed?

Perhaps you could ask for your FTP password to be changed if you think thats how they got in?

Brian - I feel your pain, I experienced something similar, but it may be a bit different than your problem. I was the victim of an SQL-Injection attack, the hackers added scripts to fields in my SQL database, they got there thru my ignorance & sloppy coding of .asp D/B connections & opens. If this is/was your problem, one solution is to do all of your D/B accesses via Stored Procedures.(I'm not highly technical, but I learned a LOT on this subject. I'm sure there are many people on ere that know more about it than I do, but I'd be happy to share my problem & fix with you . . .Breck Cogdill
