I have been asked to install a Church Directory on our church web site that members can access, look up addresses, phone numbers, etc. Also one that our secretary can log in through an admin panel and make the adds and editing.

I don't have enough knowledge of MYSQL to write a database program to support something like this and have been looking on the Internet for a simple program that I could install that would suffice.

If anyone knows of such a program, I sure would appreciate some info on this.

Don't know ANYTHING about them but a quick glance seemed like you might find a solution there.

Unless it's a program that is password protected.
I'd be real hesitant putting peoples names and address on the web for "everyone to see."
To much ID theft going on without giving them help.
We have a couple people, in our church, who have gone through this and I know for a fact they would blow a cork or worse if we started putting their info out there.
I don't have a solution, I'm only saying be real careful how you approach this.

I have googled this to death and have not found any stand alone address book with mysql database that makes any sense - most of the stuff out there is included as modules in larger programs with over-kill! We just want a simple easily edited directory where folks can look up member's addresses and phone numbers.

Check their Contact List template. You'll spend a few bucks, but the numerous templates are/could be useful. I'm just getting into this app, but it is spoken pretty highly of in some forums/newsgroups. Beginner to Novice with browser rendering, not just code.
