Hi,
I've created a form with the possibility to upload a file. So far, everything works fine, except that the attachment never gets sent to me...
Is there any more information about attachment 'round or did I miss something important? In the "configure form settings" everything seems to be correct.

Do your mail settings look like this:
http://www.coffeecuphelp.com/inger/help/formsettings.jpg
- and the file upload settings like this?
http://www.coffeecuphelp.com/inger/help/formsettings2.jpg
And is the file extension of the attachment listed in the left field?

Hi Inger
that's exactly how it looks - everything is set according to the pics you provided (of course with my real e-mail adress instead of the dummy one ;-)
Don't know why this doesn't work. I've already deleted and re-uploaded all necessary files, but no success...
Here's the link to the form:

I really don't know how to solve this...
Cheers,
Thomas

Verify the type of file extensions you are trying to attach. It may be case sensitive, so if .doc is on the list, but your file is .DOC, it might not work. You can add to the list of files extentions so that your files is recognized.
Just for fun, have you tried sending an image file, like .gif or .jpg
I ask because I notice on your form you are asking to limit to text files, so just curious to see if images work.

www.mainsites.ca is my website, and yes, some of it is crappy.

Funny - I added to the list of files extentions both versions like doc DOC txt TXT - doesn't work either.
When submitting the form, there's a flash bar indicating "uploading file..", but when I receive the e-mail message, there is no attachment. Funny enough, this also works with GIF or JPG files (I mean: the form accepts graphic files as attachment, although it shouldn't)...
Don't know what to do now, I definitely need the upload function...

OK, now I've found the following help file here:
http://www.coffeecup.com/form-builder/h … l.700.html
But helas, this doesn't help either...
I'm wondering where the "files" folder on server side should be: on the root, in you public_html folder or on the same level as your form...?
Hey, men landed in 1969 on the moon, why is it 39 years later still so difficult to send a file via attachment... ;-)

lol
The "files" folder should be in the same directory as your web form.

Ok, I finally managed the form to send an attachment.
I did the following:
1. I've moved all form related files to the root of my site.
2. When I tried to send an attachment from that new location,
I got an error "We're sorry but we were unable to send your e-mail. If you are sure that you entered all your email addresses properly, you should contact your server administrator."
3. I went and had a mug of coffee
4. I returner to my computer and (without changing anything) tried to send the attachment again. And, tataaaa, it worked.
I've sent a couple of attachments in series to make sure it's still working and it is (without anymore coffee break in between).
Perhaps somebody could explain why the form works on the site root, but not in a folder. Paths to the "files" folder?

Did you select both "save to your server" and "attach to email"? You can do both, and I believe the "files" folder will be created by form builder when you upload your form.

I tried your form. It seems to have worked, possibly uploaded a simple .txt file from my computer and sent me an "auto reply" right away. However, the "thank you" page was missing, and I got a 404 page not found error.
I'm glad you got it working. No idea why it should be on root folder, or only work there.
have you tried making a new test form, with completely different name, and uploading to a folder within your webiste? Maybe something simply was not being uploaded properly with the original form, or the browser cache was messing things up from before the form had an upload button? Just guessing.
