Thanks Tom, I'll see what I can find more yet, I think I've done all those things in the 2 posts you had links for, but it still only shows up in code when I go to the alias on the local host. Long day and brain is too tired to do this tonight I think so I'll check on it more tomorrow. I'll let ya know if I find anything else :)

Jo Ann, Since I didn't have a site using SSI I made a two page test site using SSI and loaded on the www folder in wamp. Then I used the configure instructions included in the link that Tom had provided and everything worked like a charm. No problem at all.

Wikepedia also has a table of all the basic syntax - a bit more useful for me for reminders than going through the Apache documentation.

Hiya TomH,

Did you by any chance setup an alias rather than doing a www setup? That's what I'm trying to accomplish and I "thought" I had it, but apparently not as I can't view it other than code yet. I'm really not wanting to have to move all my projects at this point to another location on my machine or maintain them there or anywhere else than where I have them as I've had a nice setup for all my sites in the same area for years and want to keep it that way.

Do you have a link to that Wikepedia table of syntax? Not sure it will be real helpful for me since I don't script or program in any of these languages for apache and php etc. but it might help. I did run through that post by Tom but even though I did all the things they mention there ( or what I assume is all the things lol) it still isn't viewing correctly in the browser, still the files and folders listing and code if I click them at all.

I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing here, just don't know what lol.

Hi Jo Ann, No I didn't try the alias bit, but will give it a try this evening and see if I can get it to work that way.

I never move the project files from where they are either for years. I just save twice when I want to see/test fullest the latest I have more often messed up.

To finish up my testing of the HTML Editor project using SSI and wamp, I used the alias procedure outlined in the link provided above by Tom. Good instructions and all went well. I did have to add a .htaccess file to the Editor project folder to get the SSI to work on my two page test site.

I have been using wamp with copies of my SCC to get realistic/better views of design changes of the carts, but in future I think I will also go Dave's route and set up my projects in the wamp/www folder.

I'm not worried about loosing data - I loss a C drive without backup some years ago and I now backup the backup of the backup etc., etc.

I set up an alias to a folder outside of www so I don't accidentally toast my websites if I uninstall WAMP

Then I created a website project called local server and set the folder to where my websites are, that way every time I start CCEditor all my sites are accessible.
