Hi everyone,

I'm having problems using the Coffee Cup form in Expression Web 2 and was wondering if anyone could help?

Used foms loads of times in Frontpage but for some reason cannot get it to work, when inserting it the same way, in Expression Web.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on this one please?

Many thanks, Pete ;)

Isn't Expression Web a WYSIWYG prog?

You probably can use the form builder, it will be a matter of inserting it the right way, uploading all the necessary files to the right place and make sure the path to files, like xml or swf are correct. Further than that I can't help, then I've never seen Expression Web at work.

Just paste the code Form Builder gives you into the text editor portion of ExpressionWeb, not the WYSIWYG. Save the page and make sure the FormBuilder files are all in the same directory and all will be well.

Yes Expression web is a wysiwyg web builder, very similar to Frontpage.
I am doing the same with Expression Web as I did with Frontpage which is;
Copy the code from form builder and insert that into my page in code,
I then go to my form folder copy all the files and insert them into my folder list.

For some reason when I insert the code my page go's all weird and everything moves about. Also when I view the page it says it cannot find the html.

Never has this problem in FP hence I was wondering if EW need things doing in a different way

You must be doing something wrong. I have used ExpressionWeb3 and inserted CC Forms into the text editor and it displayed/functioned fine.

If you insert some html or script into CoffeeCup's VSD, you have to actively 'make known' to VSD that there are some files belonging to it. Maybe there is something like that in Expression Web too?

He should not be using the WYSIWYG side of EW to insert the code. If you insert the code in text editor side, it will work fine.

Hi there,
As said, I 'do' enter the code from the form into the text side, just as I did in Frontpage.
I have made a cell 970w x 275h. I find, in the text (code page) where my cell is and insert the code from my form. My form being 940w x 225h.
When I do this the bottom part of my screen is moved and the whole screen go's to pot.
Never had any problems using this form in Frontapage and while I am making the form in the very same way and inserting it the same, something is not right and I just can't see why?

If things are shifting, check the div properties, paying attention to padding and margins. It is something going on in the page you created. It's not Form Builder or ExpressionWeb.

I too have no issues with inserting the code. Have you run a compatibity check. You might go to the Expressions forums. There are many there that use form builder. Do you have "fix for active content" ticked in the settings. It should generate clean W3C compatible code when used. I have not had any issues.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
