Ibrahim,

Which software are you referring to?
HTML editor?
If so, any web page can be opened and edited.
Install the HTML Editor,
enter your ftp server(ftp://www.ibrahimsplace.com) and if necessary the directory where the files are stored.(e.g. httpdocs. Then it looks like this: ftp:www.ibrahimsplace.com/httpdocs. You need this to publish your site on the internet) enter username and password.

Then make a connection and 'download' (GET in FTP language) your site.
This creates a copy of the website (on the internet) on your local pc and disconnect from the internet.

Now you can edit, create pages on your website, by working from the files that are on your local pc.

Delete pages, make new content, create new styles, etc etc.
Try to test as much as possible before you publish. For example in a preview mode.

Once your done save the files.
Make a connection with the internet, and publish (PUT in FTP language) all the new/edited files including depending files (like images, scripts etc).
Close the connection.
Go to your browser and go to you website. Press F5 (or CTRL+ F5) and there you go.

You have update your site.
(In theory :P because this is in a small nutshell)
:D
