Unless that person is holding back your check because the website you created for them looks like poo in their browser and every other site they visit looks just fine. ;)

Tom is correct,

It isn't the developer that creates the rules for the game, it is their client. If their client's usership uses ie6, then what does the developer tell the client willing to fork over big bucks "sorry I don't do ie6!"

if i had a corporate customer with big bucks telling me they only use IE6 i'd be calling them a waste o space - and that they'd be better off spending the money on an IT manager before their business dies of a virus

Not me. Id take their money!!!

Unless of course they asked for my opinion on the issue. I would certainly warn, them but ultimately it is their deal.

Most people will agree that would be the rational thing to do, Eric. :)

i guess you guys dont actually work for corporates? - in my experience they're more interested in someone that is open and honest with them and has helpful suggestions than someone who just sucks shirttails.... Maybe thats why i keep my customers and have no need to advertise ;)

Is there a way to get IE 6.0 to display the images properly, or am I just gonna have to "bite the bullet"?

1) Use 8 bit PNGs with alpha transparency. The drawback for this is it's only 256 colors and only 16 shades of transparency. http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2007/09/ … ar-winner/

2) Use conditional code so IE 6 will use alternate images.

3) Maybe, just maybe, you will be able to get one of the various png fixes to work.

BTW, is this evident in the newer versions of IE?

No, only IE 6 exhibits this problem.
