I may be wrong on this, but don't you have to add an extra ../ for every extra folder you have the page burried under? If folder a has a folder in it called folder b, and it has a folder called folder c, would you not have to add ../../../thisfile.text in order to get to the top folder? It could be just a matter of figuring out how many ../ you need to get back to the root folder where the SSI folder is.
Or, once again I could be out-to-lunch, but I'm used to that.

What about being more direct, and linking to the path of the SSI folder? http://w w w.whatever.com/SSI instead of all the ../../SSI stuff?
