Thought I should flag it in that Google has placed a warning on my site stating that...

"This Site May Damage Your Computer"

Now before anyone starts, this is absolute rubbish! My hosting company has investigated and has advised that the site is secure and virus free. It does however look as if the FALSE virus warnings Scott mentioned in his announcement on 31st July have caused this to happen.

Not only is this an inconvenience to CC, but this is potentially a disaster for me and my business. I would urge you all to check your listings on Google to ensure that this hasn't happened to you and to email the anti-virus company today demanding they act to list CC products as safe before this happens to others.

By the way, Google removed the block two days later without any explanation whatsoever. No malware or offensive content was found at any level.

Does your site pull up if searching this "Clearinghouse?"

From what I've read, StopBadware.org is what Google uses that blocks sites like you mentioned. I can't pull up anything related to Coffeecup. It seems that the biggest reason for flagging is related to having links to other pages that might be bad. Not having seen your site, are there links or banners, or anything that might've led to another site that was problematic. Seems a bit crazy, this whole concept. If every actor links back to Kevin Bacon (http://oracleofbacon.org) within 6 degrees, you'd think everyone's site would get flagged eventually. :P

this has happened to every site i have built (10 total) using CC. the sites i used CC that didnt have any active objects such as photo gallery or a web form (using CC software) are fine so there is obviously something in the CC coding that causes this and it needs to be fixed! all of my sites are blocked, i have had them unblocked only to be reblocked again. please help CC!

This has absolutely 100% nothing to do with coding or our software. Google bases those decisions primarily on IP addresses and the network your Website is hosted on. Users on a shared hosting platform for the most part use the same IP address. While you maybe perfectly fine, you could share the same IP address with someone who isn't.

The best way to avoid this is to have a dedicated server or a static ip address.

That's an excellent suggestion. While most users on here probably won't need a dedicated server, a unique IP address can be obtained for normally only around $25 per year through most hosting companies. People always say you don't need a unique ip, but this is a good example of why its sometimes a good idea. Especially if your shared hosting provider is doesn't have restrictions on what kind of site they allow. You could be sharing an IP with a spammer or a pornography site or who knows what...
