Hi,
I've got four websites I play with, two of them based on CoffeeCup VSD. Plus a wordpress and b2evo blog, one each. I'm getting occasional feedback that my CoffeeCup sites are broken, with text and layout scrambled if viewed in Firefox. The thing is, I use Firefox and for me the sites come up just fine on either of the computers we use. If I can't see the problem I have no clue as to how I might fix it.
One of the people with the viewing problem used an Apple MAC, and on their forums a problem is reported which involves a font issue. In Firefox one of the fonts possible won't display properly on a MAC system.
So I'm wondering if that happens to be a font I'm using in CoffeeCup VSD. Does anyone here know about this issue or a related problem?

Sounds like different dpi settings for the computer displays used by your visitors. VSD assumes and requires a specific display setting of 96 dpi. Anything else and text can start overlapping other content.
As far as fonts go, there aren't a whole lot to choose from that are common across platforms...

If you apply an effect to the text, any effect, it becomes an image and will show up the same in all browsers. Even if you do not want a shadow you can add one and then set the shadow properties to zero. The downside is that Google cannot spider text that's an image.

Chad, I have heard that if you write the text you wanted in the 'alt' tag of the image, Google will read it and you will be kind of 'half-way' helped. Don't know if this is true, though. Anyone with more knowledge?

I got a little more info about the problem yesterday, a viewer with problems viewing the page was able to see the page correctly in IE but with an error message saying a video was missing. Same guy who couldn't load the page correctly in Firefox, not working with a Mac so I guess it isn't that. I'm planning to just simplify the layout of the page, replace the video blocks with photos, maybe that will reduce problems.
Thanks for the ideas,
Jimmy

Hi all:
I was searching the forums to see if anyone else had a similar problem. My clients website is up and running, but there appears to be various problems when he views it on his end: "Metal Recycling and Metal Supply continue to come up on two lines on the Apple, not on one line like on the PC, one line is the way it should work." I should mention that I own a MAC and bought a parallel program in order to use the Coffeecup software. When I view the website on my MAC- everything looks fine. I have a Dell CPU at work and view the website and everything is OK as well.... I checked the website on both google chrome, internet explorer, and firefox on both cpu's and everything seems to work out fine.
What can I suggest to my client so that he can view the website like I can?

JW - Got a link? I'm sure there's some Mac users here that could give it a look if you provide one.
