Preventing Block

Does anyone out there know (other than the obvious) about why one page might be blocked by company software and another is not. I am noticing that some of my sites are being blocked by some software and I would prefer to change that, if its possible. :/

Can you elaborate on company software, Eric?

Do you mean a company network is restricting access to a website?

Yes. I cant mention the software, but any software in general that blocks sites. For example, I can access this forum with no problem from work, but I can't access another forum very similar to it on another site. What is it that differentiates the two. Another example, there are some CC stores I can access while others I cannot. Just curious what makes the difference.

I would imagine the hosts of the site have a lot to do with that too. I know mine has validity issues at times because the main host of our hosting reseller package has issues with theirs so it passes on down. Doesn't happen always, but every so often.

Well, just like the military blocks lots of sites with firewalls, any company can block any site by IP, Domain, Key Words, etc. The system/network admin decides what he chooses to block or allow entry through the port. That's why site A can get through but site B can not.

Just wait until you get home to look at that midget porn, my man. :D
