Hello everyone:

Is there a particular blogging software and/or setup... maybe a smart trick or something... that folks like to use on their websites? Wordpress? Blogspot? Something else?

I have a site that I am working on currently that the owner of the store wants to have a blog page. I am using VSD to make the site and curious as to what program to use to add it to the site. Any thoughts from others would be helpful.

thanks

CoffeeCup's Stream is an awesome application for blogging. It keeps getting better as they add more functionality to it and it's very customizable. I also like Google's Blogger.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Check out the S-Drive and Streams (link above). This is so easy to use! Your client can log into their Stream (blog) from anywhere with a user name and password. Write an entry, add photos...It's still a new offering from Coffee Cup, so more features are added frequently. There's also Power Post which has some image editing features, so one can log into PP, make their blog entry, add some pics, videos, whatever and click one button to publish to their Stream.
Jammn - In VSD, you'll see a button (in the left-side menu) that looks like a lightening bolt. If you have an S-Drive account, click that to put a Stream on your page. Your entire VSD site can now be hosted on an S-Drive account - no FTP, just log into it from anywhere and make changes/updates. :)

I see Eric got in here while I was rambling on

Eric, My customers now want to add a blogging/forum page to their sites and how can i setup so that iit can be configured into their existingVSD site?

I'm still a bit new to CCS. Seems to be if you dont have a vast knowledge of coding its difficult to merge this so it looks part of their original VSD site?

And one other thing, are we able to change the url name for CCS? Like if my site is motortraders.com.au? can it be called mototraders.com.au/blog.html? or will the url have to be coffeecupstream.matortraders.com.au/blog.html or something like that? I think you know what i mean?

Cheers

That's the great part about stream. It's like a window you place in the web page allowing others to see in. All you have to do is have a Stream subscription added to your S-Drive account then in VSD click on the red circle with the S on the left hand panel and VSD will add the appropriate code to your page so you can share your Blog. This way it's embedded right into the website your working on. Stream has a lot of options for posting. Power Post is a small application CC just made available that makes blogging so easy my grandmother could do it. You can also have posts by email.:)

Do you have a website example you could send a link for? I am not sure what you are talking about exactly. I have an html box that I am able to "stream" (I think that's what it's called) my Wordpress blog. But I'd like to create my own blog on my website/move my articles over to my own website.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
