Powerpoint Presentation As Flash -...

I'd like to use the Flash Application Tool to show a Powerpoint presentation. I converted the Powerpoint to .xml file, but receive the following error:

"HTML File not present in the directory or wrong XML File."

I'm not sure what this means, how to correct it, or if I should be trying to have it play via a different way.

Thanks for your input!

Just a couple of questions.

What version of PPt are you using?
and
Did you use "save as" or "save as webpage" option?

thanks, oh, and if you have a link we could look at that would be super.

I'm using 2002, but had someone save it on 2007 as a .xml file.

I have gone live yet, so I don't have a link. I'm waiting for this last piece before going live.

Thanks!

ask them to use 2007 and the "save as webpage" option in the file menu, and save it into a seperate folder, then give you everything in that folder.

Possibly they didn't send you everything that PPt created. but as i understand things .xml needs a little help to go live on the web.

I have several times put Excel spreadsheets on the web using the "save as webpage" option, and seemed to go smoothly. (Excel 2003).

A second option; albeit, a less appealing one is to create individual images of your slides and use the CC Photo gallery (not a slight against CCPG, it is this option is more labor intensive.

A final option, if you are still having trouble with the PPt conversion, you can send me the PPt file and I can use my 2003 to do it.

He did do the instructions on your first suggestion and I'm still getting the same error message. I can send you the file to see if you have any better luck. What's the best way to send it to you?

I'm hesitatn to use the photo gallery because we have some background music that plays with the presentation that we'd like to keep.

Fe... trying to find that in open office. Do you know more? I have found how to save pages as a pp presentation, but not how to export as flash.

In Open Office "Impress", the Export option under the File menu includes the file format option 'Makromedia Flash .swf"
So, you can open the MS .ppt file in OpenOffice Impress, and then export it as a .swf file.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
