I have recently been asked to help setup podcast and vidcast on a site.
It appears to me that all you need for podcast is the mp3 files, and rss feed listing the files. I think I would start with a page and since these will be sermons, have a link to November 2008, December 2008, and the current month. Each area would have the months sermon mp3 files listed so visitors could click and play. A separate button to download the files. Then the RSS feed that lists the new files as they are added.
Does this make sense for setting up a podcast page?
Could I do something similar using flv files for the vidcast?
Are there any problems I should avoid? Any tips to make things easier?

Hey Bill, did you ever set up your podcast? I have been asked to do the same and came here to look for any tips. If so, which URL has it?

Hi
Looks like a good idea. I have in my main page a slideshow with news made with CC Rss News and easily can insert a link for a pop-up window with the video or mp3.
To create the RSS I use RSSBuilder from B!Soft a very easy program.
