Need Help ... Again - Post ID 125556
Some of you guys helped me with my friends web site the other day and now I am in need of more help....
The regular "As Is" page is set up at www.reverendjillpidcock.com
Originally the main content area had no border around it and she wanted a red border so i edited the bg.png file which is the background (set through the CSS) it use to be a small square with the content color only - I elongated it to the width of that section and provided the color area (red) on each end
The difficult time I am having now is getting that border to appear at the top and the bottom of that content area. I created 2 graphics
http://reverendjillpidcock.com/images/body_top.jpg
and
http://reverendjillpidcock.com/images/body_bottom.jpg
Hoping I could incorporate them into it. I was able to get the top to appear fine as you can see in
http://www.reverendjillpidcock.com/test.php
but when i try placing the bottom graphic into place, I get this..
http://www.reverendjillpidcock.com/test2.php
Also, any recommendations on how I can make the navigation menu area look better ... maybe stretch it out to fit better with the graphic at the top.

Hi Ron, you have quite a few end tags missing...that is you haven't closed tags. If you fix those you may find it will work.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
I thought that might of been the problem (assuming you are talking about the close <div> tags) but not having any luck with that
Ron if you run the site through a validator it will show you where the errors are. I think you will find once you close those tags the text will be in the right spot. It only takes one unclosed tag to muck things up.
Not sure which program you are editing in but the Editor has a built in validator from memory or there are plenty online.
Just about to head off for the weekend or I'd search one out for you

From what I can see of your css file, you have put the top and bottom image together all above the text. Try putting the bottom image in a div below the text, but without the float property value.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
