Multifind and replace - Post ID 73218
Hi guys
I was just trying out the coffecup software and wondered if there is a 'multifind and replace' tool somewhere. I made a mistake somewhere in the programming of pages and wanted to change that in one time.
Is there a tool for this?
Thanks for your suggestions

Max,
If you are using the HTML Editor, there is a find and replace that can work across multiple files.
What program are you using?

Hi Bill
I just bought the HTML editor. I think I found something but did not try it completely. Is it true that I can just choose for 'files in folder' and wil everything be replaced in that particular folder?
I am used to another program and have to find my way again.... I am used to a program where you can just go to a folder and choose the files that you want to be searched. That would be the best solution I think. Is that possible as well?

Max,
In the HTML Editor, highlight the information you want to change, and press CTRL-H which brings up the find & replace menu and displays the highlighted information. If you know what you want to change, but do not know where it is, then CTRL-H without highlighting anything will bring up the find & replace menu without anything pre-filled.
You can select the current file, all the files you have open in the editor, or select a folder to modify all the files in that folder.

Thanks very much Bill, slowly I will get used to the program! Just found the automatic wrap function as well, so working on the html pages is easier already.... Coming from another editor cost me a little time I think :-)
However... I still miss some options I am very used to.....

Max,
What are the options you are missing? It may be that they are in fact available, just under a different location/name.

Hi Bill
I will check it and will write down while working. I worked for some clients today and discovered some weird (in my eyes) things, but I can't really recall them now....
I build websites as from 1998 already so I am a but stuck in my old habits I guess :-)
But I will certainly write down things that do seem strange in my eyes.
The multifile and replace as I am used to is deeply missed anyway

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
