Minor design issue - Post ID 91583
I need to edit 8 pages.
And on each of those pages I need to change the text on the left side bar and the footer from:
"Future Books" to "Calendar"
and "Sharing Your Writer's Story" to "Upcoming Books"
How can this be done WITHOUT changing text? (When the webmaster fixed my shopping cart on three pages, she overwrote all my original text!)
Help! I'm still a novice!

What programme are you using? We need to know a bit more in order to be of any help. An Url to your site would also be fine.
When you say you want to change some text, your question 'How can this be done WITHOUT changing text?' must mean without changing ALL the text, right?

It sounds like your talking about master borders, a certain part of the page which, when you make changes to it that PART of the website changes on every single page. My last web design software, NetObjects, could do that and so can many Adobe products. VSD doesn't have that option as far as I know. We'll be able to offer more help when we find out what software you're using to create your page.

My website is www.cattalespress.com. I have CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008 (Trial), which I am totally baffled with! I also have CoffeeCup Direct FTP, which I used for the text edits--that I can seem to use.
It seems to me (and I truly only got to glance at your site and source code) that your referring to the menu items on the left column. Those are images, using .gif files loaded in to create the menu. In order to alter those you will need a graphic editing software such as Gimp, that allows you to load and save .gif files... If you 'rename' the altered images, which would make sense as they are currently named to match their function, you will need to then alter SOME of your coding on each page they will be used.
