i'm really struggling to find what legal information i need as mandatory on my website

i'm about to remove my website from my sdrive until i have all of this as ive read horror stories of people suing for rediculous things and i have the worst luck in the world so it'll happen to me :(

here's what my site has

it's an information site ( a step by step guide ) to getting free products which link you to the site in question
it takes no personal information nor does it have any comments or forum access of my own
it has no login sections
most links will refer to the site in question but also will have links to here etc using the logos provided here

can anyone help me in what legal info i need to have please
not a full description just the name for example

copyright
t&c
etc etc

thankyou

First you need to find out if you are allowed to use the Logo's from the site you are referencing.

Next, are you using text or images from the site your are referencing, (you need permission from the site to use them.)

Lastly, if you have permission then you do not need anything, if you do not, then you have to get it by contacting the company or site your are referencing.

yes the website allows use of all information on their site as long as you post a legal paragraph supplied by them so that parts ok it's my site that worries me as thats my responsibility and like my brother said earlier when you make a website other peoples life problems become yours when they find a legal loophole in websites

for example depression because of information provided on my site etc ( yes people really are that hungry for cash they do things like that! )

this worries me so i want to be covered 100% before i reopen my new site

What is information posted by you is covered under your 1st amendment right if you live in the US... As long as you do not tell someone how to kill themselves, or any way to harm themselves you can not be punished by law.

Not strictly true, you should have a privacy policy and terms and conditions as you are offering a service.

Am I right your site about getting free iPhones, iPads, xboxes and stuff................ If I am wrong then I apologise. I see the Freebiejeebies project is still going

You do need a disclaimer of some sorts, something like :-

Your site acts only as an information portal to show you how to get a free xxx and is not related at all with xxxxxx, xxxx or any of the companies mentioned on the website. Your site also does not hold any responsibilities of gift tracking or gift giving. etc.........

Yep that's exactly it it's freebiejeebies :)

My old site was a very bad site with no legal info so I took it offline until this new site goes live

As the old site worked I want this one to be fully legal and go for the long run

I didn't want to name the site incase it got removed for advertising

Mark, it will not be labelled spam or so if you give us an URL to a site of yours that you are working on and need some help with. Very often we actually have to see the site in question, and its code, to be able to help. :)

But those people who come here as guest users, write one line like e.g. 'Yeah, that's my opinion too' and then leave their website url, which has nothing to do with Coffeecup and their software at all, they get their website addresses removed and sometimes also get banned.

Ok I just didn't know that's all

Well my website is www.3musicstuff.com but as I said I've deleted the old site as it had no info or legal cover on my behalf so I'd rather be safe than sorry

I'm currently redesigning it as a hosting style site but the legal info will go up first

So with that in mind that I'm linking my visitors to www.freebiejeebies.co.uk/701873 what legal things am I likely to need so I can find templates and modify to suit my site

Thanks btw for your help so far :)
