jQuery slider loading time - Post ID...

I am experimenting with a jQuery slider on this site: www.mingas.com
On my very slow connection, the initial loading time seems excessive even though I've kept image sizes below 100kB each. Images are loaded 'just in time' for being needed, so the initial loading before the first image is shown should only involve the loading of one image. Something else in the jQuery script/routine initialization seems to be time-consuming...
Since most of you out there presumably have much faster connections than me, could I ask you the favor of taking a look and tell me if the initial loading time is acceptable or not?

Hiya Per,

Worked pretty slick for me, fast loading, runs nicely, what slider is that if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for checking, Jo Ann! Nice to know that others can see it quickly, even though it takes me for ever to see it here after clearing the cache...
The slider is called Estro and was done by 'pixelentity':

Jo Ann,
I found it in a list of "60 excellent jQuery sliders" posted by AviD recently:

For those looking for good jquery sliders here is another really good website. Yes you do have to pay a few $ but it is worth it. There are so many sliders there that you are bound to find one to suit your website. Also this website has a lot of other goodies too. If you go down to the footer you will find links to lots of other things too.

I use the the jQuery Carousel Evolution slider on my own website portfolio page and it works perfectly.

:)
