So, I'm using the Visual Editor, I'm guessing that it doesn't automatically code with H tags? Anyone willing to explain to me where I should add in the H tags?
Hi Kristi,
One of the most important things for Google is TEXT. Plain text. Not graphics. Google can't read graphics to get information about your site. You made the front (home) page of your website with graphic elements containing text instead of pure text. So Google can't read what you try to tell, while there you write your mission statement, why you think your business is unique among all others. Don't care that much about keywords and description or h1 header tags, as long as the text on your homepage (and all other pages, Google 'crawls' them all) describes what you want to tell about your business, it's USP's (Unique Selling Point) as good as possible...
After you've done this, add your site to the index of Google (http://www.google.com/addurl) and wait patiently. Maybe some weeks. In the end you will be found...
Good luck!
John

That's interesting, Kim. I'm hesitant to believe they don't use them at all though!
Anyway, I have another question about keywords...
If I list my keywords separately like this:
metal, fabrication, stainless steel, custom, Denver,
Would someone searching "stainless steel metal fabrication" hit my keywords?

I'm not so sure that separating each word by a comma is more beneficial than grouping them together a a phrase. I believe the second example better uses the keyword meta tag.
,quality, widgets, Denver, Colorado,
,quality widgets Denver Colorado,
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Hmmm, my concern then is how do I add several of my keyword phrases without repeating too much? See, I would like to be able to have keywords like this:
Metal fabrication, stainless steel fabrication, aluminum fabrication, copper fabrication, custom metal fabrication...etc. because those are phrases that are searched but based on what was said earlier about repeating, I clearly don't want to use "fabrication" that much.

If it was me I would consider what type of fabrication you do the most and put that in a phrase. The phrase thing really does work well.
Maybe consider
Gulley Metal Services, custom fabrication shop, metal fabrications, Denver fabricators, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, handrails, Colorado custom stainless aluminum copper metal fabricators, fabrication contractors
I see you used put keywords in your alt tags

Well that is my two cents, your site looks great and I am sure you will do really well.
Thanks for the advice, Kim! Do you know, is there anyway to add tags to photos that are in the flash gallery? I'm thinking not so I've thought of adding additional non-flash galleries that are just small thumbnail photos with descriptions that are not only helpful for content searches but also for people who aren't using flash?
Also, would someone mind checking if the gallery at http://www.gulleymetalservices.com/ProjectGallery.html looks right? It looks like it's going beyond it's borders for me but when I preview it in the program it looks fine. I've tried reloading it and have uploaded it again and it's still showing the same for me.
I think it the whole site looks pretty good, Kristi. You've done a fine job with it.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
