I keep hearing rumours that flash is on it's way out. It isn't available on Apple devices so that basically cuts them out of viewing my menus etc.

Whether it actually is on its way out remains to see. But Adobe and Apple have some issues over this, and one thing is that flash is not good for handheld equipment with touch screens, another is that it's not good for SEO either.

I don't think it's going anywhere soon(ish) but the writing is on the wall. That's good news for a lot of people that use Apple products, as well as companies that benefit from selling new programs to replace their existing Flash programs.

It won't die the quick death it deserves... But YES, it will start to be phased out I'm sure. There have been a number of articles floating around on it's ultimate demise.

OK thanks everyone for your input. Web development isn't my main forte, and if it wasn't for Coffee Cup I would probably contract the whole thing out. I can rest easy for a bit longer then

A lot of what you can do with flash can now be done with css3 so it would not surprise me if in years to come it will be fazed out me thinks
