I'd have to say it'd make things a lot easier, but Photoshop is just so expensive. I don't know enough about Photoshop Elements to know its limitations, if it can do what people need for web design. Then again, unless you create your own graphics or start your site off with a template, you really don't need Photoshop. I've been more concerned with working with photos, and I've been pretty impressed with Google's Picasa. I've also recently installed GimpShop & Paint.NET, both are freeware and are decent for what they do (being $Free.99). It's those PSD templates that get you stuck on requiring the bigger/better apps (Photoshop/ImageReady & Fireworks).
Is anyone using Photoshop Elements to edit PSDs?

You know, you can pick up an older version of Photoshop a lot cheaper. Do a search of Ebay and see what is on offer.
Even better would be for a friend to give you an old copy, then you could always go the upgrade route. A lot cheaper then the full blown priced version.
Note, if you ever do bid on Ebay for Photoshop at silly prices like $40, then know this will be a pirated version.

Ahh...see. I don't even want to spend $40. And then they come out w/ a new version and you have to pay again for an upgrade.
If only Adobe's suites had Coffeecup's bundle prices ($189 for everything, lifetime updates).
Now I'm dreaming.
Reminds me, I was shocked to find out Adobe acquired Macromedia. I went to Macromedia.com to download Flash or Shockwave and it redirected to Adobe.com (thought I made a mistake somehow). I wonder where that'll lead as far as Dreamweaver's future. Now if Adobe buys Corel, and Microsoft buys Adobe, M$ can take over the software world. We'll probably end up with only one graphics option: MS Paint 2.0

FastStone is a very good free image editor, as is Infraspan. Adobe Elements is overpriced junk and it's some indication of the desirability of CC's templates that they require it for editing them. I also have the CS2 suite, but for day to day work, I use Compupic Pro, which I have had since beta testing the first version -- old habits die hard.
The Gimp has always done me fine. Never been anything I can't do using that.

Back to the Stone Age then!

O.K. Adam,
That was flippant......sorry.......just backing up other posts here........yes.......you will need something to get your graphics as you want them.
I suggest you go looking for Jasc on ebay and pick up either the Paint Shop Pro 8 or 9.
They have been taken over by Corel so you won't get any customer support I guess, but I have never needed it and I have never really worked with anything else. For the same reason, you should get one of those pretty cheaply.
Janys ;D
I just looked at Ebay, and you can get Paint Shop Pro 9 for under $20
That is the price of three packets of smokes in the UK!
