Yeah but that's a deceiving little article really. The fine print (in other words, read the whole thing) lets people opt out of that auto update so businesses will still be stuck on 7 if they want to be, and individuals can turn it off too so... in the end it's still a choice rather than a forced update... *sighs* it should be forced lol.

Yes finally. I now use html5 and I would love to use css3 but too many old browsers out there are not compatible yet. Boilerplate nor modernizer solve this problem with css3 as they do with html5. So the faster all browsers automatically update to the latest version the better as far as I am concerned... roll on css3 :)
