How do I get started? - Post ID 154077
I am completely new to this whole thing.
So far, I created finalfantasygreatness.com, but that really is everything so far. No forums, no links, and barely any content. I have a monthly subscription to web.com that allows me to be given the luxury of creating and modifying my website in an extremely rigid and limited way.
I downloaded CoffeCup HTML editor a while ago and I do not know where to start.
Thank you in advance.

I personally think if you are a beginner then that Coffeecup software Visual Site Designer is a better option for you then the Html editor. You might consider downloading the trail version and see how you get along with it.

You'll need some html/css knowledge to make use of the HTML Editor. Have a look at these sites:
http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp
http://htmldog.com/guides/htmlbeginner/
If those don't grab you, then I'd agree with AviD - give the Visual Editor (VSD) a try. You'll be able to easily have your site looking just the way you want, and VSD is made to work well with all the other Coffee Cup software. So you can add a lot of functionality (forms, galleries, calendars, videos...) without any coding knowledge.

If you don't want to do much coding (personally I try to keep it to a bare minimum) then Visual Site Designer (VSD) is a great place to start. My photography site (see sig) is built entirely in VSD, with pieces plugged in using Flash Fire Starter, Photo Gallery and Form Builder; proving that for this novice (this is my first site), the Coffee Cup programs really do work wonderfully together.
I'm now adding a store/shopping cart using CC Shopping Cart Creator Pro. This is almost ready to go live. I've only had to use one line of HTML, to add an image to the shipping information page. Coffee Cup has great programs, super support, and these friendly forums to help you out.
Please let us know how things are going. Thanks.

I used HTML Ediror to build my web site medset.ca without any prior experience. Some errors, not perfect but it does work. There were reasons why I did not use VSD but that was several years ago.
Going to re-write the site from scratch starting next month.

Hi,
I've gone through several software products so I can find one to create lead pages for affiliate products that also serve as mini web page extensions sponsored by my web sites. I purchased this on Friday (yesterday). I downloaded Power Post and started using it for one of the solo ads. I've got the templates at Downloads on the C drive. I have not figured out how to get them to Power Post to upload. Can someone spare the time to explain how to do this? After I get them to Power Post, how can I access them?

Bee,
I agree that VSD would be the tool to use to get started. But, aside from the site itself, you need content. Your site looks like it is a fan site. Therfore, you need a way for your fans to interact. Install a blog or forum. Wordpress and SMF are both free and have good support. I don't know about the limitations of your host. You may consider switching. You will also need to look at security. If you create a mailing list, have users sign up for anything, or collect email addresses, you should have an SSL on your site. Just a few things to consider. A good way to post quick content, or get quick feedback from your users is to use a shout box. It's free and you can get one here... http://www.gunsmoke.me
as well as see it in action. Be sure to monitor your shout box is you allow users to post, you don't have to, because they can post anything. You may want to just display news or current events.
Hope this has been of some help. If you need more, just ask...
