I made one using the CSS menu designer built into the CC HTML editor. I then inserted the code into a HTML box in VSD and then added the files to my directory.:)

Hi Eric,

Could you please let me know what files have to be added to the directory?

Thank you,

Are you creating your web site with the HTML editor, or using VSD? If using the HTML editor the files are added for you. If you plan on using VSD then you will have to copy the code from the HTML editor to an HTML box in VSD. Next you will have to add the css file created by HTML Editor. That file can be found in your documents directory... /documents/CoffeeCup Software/HTML Editor/Projects/css

Copy the css file for your menu to the folder or directory where you are saving your web site. Then use the Edit/Add Files option in VSD to add the css file to your web site.

You may also try one of these...

The code and files can easily be added to a VSD web site.

Hi Gunsmoke and Eric,

Thank you very much! I really needed this level of instruction. The menus are functioning now :)

Best regards,

Hi,

something I'd like to share here (although I'm not sure it's the right place), css drop-down menu's don't work on a touch-screen device! I made a mobile version of www.doehetsolar.nl . The main site detects if you use a desktop system and if not (i.e. you use an iPad/iPhone/Android phone/Blackberry/Windows phone/Nokia/Tablet), switches to a simpler mobile version (made with the HTML editor, the main site is VSD). For this mobile version I intended to use a drop-down menu system to make the menu more compact, but while testing it on my Android tablet, I found out drop-down works only if you use a mouse! So I had to skip the drop-down part :-( BTW, this mobile version is completely fluid/responsive, including the graphics. Try it out...

Hi Eric,

I googled a bit in the meantime and found many discussions about this. Here's a good one:

http://www.simonbattersby.com/blog/2013 … n-devices/

As you can read there, it isn't as simple as I stated (newer iPhones may work), but to avoid problems with whatever device, I would say: don't use drop-down menus if you design a page for a touch-screen device.
