New problem has arisen tho. The owner says he used to be 2nd when you typed in War eagle on Google and obviously now hes not... He's 2nd and first on few things like when you type in like war eagle Tennessee or union city or something like that. But he thinks he used to be spot 2 when you typed in just war eagle and that i changed that.... but all i did was redirect all his stuff..... So obviously either he wasn't ever #2 or he just got moved to like pages 30 cause he went through to page like 15 and never saw himself... When he just typed in war eagle... idk but I wanna fix that so as to where hes at least one the first page when he types in war eagle...

then upload it, and Google's crawler picks it up and adds it on.

Google SEO best practices. Keywords should match site content. h1 tag and page title should reflect this also and be specific to that page.

This may sound dumb, but what is the h1 tag? i read Kirks thing on it but i dont know what the h1 tag is?

Also Kendrick, keep in mind that placement changes according to other people's sites having more "clout" and more clicks from searches and lots of other things that influence position in the search. I don't think there is anything you could have changed in the redirection system that would have changed that other than Google needing to readjust for those pages. I would tell your client that it takes time to get things redirected with Google being able to adjust to the new pages for those URL's and that can sometimes take up to a few months even. Patience is an extreme virtue where SEO is concerned

I'm not being a smarty pants, I'm saying this for your benefit. You should get a good book to learn html as well as rely on WYSIWYG editors and point and click programs. The h1 tag is important to seo.

Thx Jo Ann. And i don't think he was ever at #2.... I think he paid for a Google ad and once tha payment time ran out and he didn't pay again that he dropped back to where ever he was originally.
