Hello,
I am trying to set up my FTP connection, and continuously get the message that says the host cannot be found. I am very new at this and so don't know what exactly this means. I'm using Visual Site Designer, the latest version, and Godaddy.

I've read through other threads concerning godaddy and vsd, and I am fairly sure that I'm using the correct settings.

FTP setting: mydomain.com
username: **
password: **
www folder: leave this blank

Is there something else I should be looking into for this to work?

I've also tried checking and unchecking the passive box.

Help will be appreciated

Hi,
Do you have any anti-virus programs or Firewalls blocking you that you know of?

Hi,
Could you or have you tried another ftp client such as Filezilla or direct ftp to see if those to do not connect or if they do connect.
here is the free one coffeecup offers that you could try.
http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/download/

if it works using this you can upload your site with it til we get it figured out.

I used direct ftp and was able to upload. I'd still like to figure out how to use VSD.

Thank you :)

Hi,
I'm glad that worked for you. I really can't say what the problem would be other then the anti-virus blocking it or the firewall. The only other time this has happened to me is when VSD was installed on a different drive then C.
Maybe someone else can chime in and give you a better approach to fixing this problem.

Are you actually trying to upload or using the test option?
I've had the test not work but when I choose resync it did upload.

The only thing that worked for me.... in your main vsd folder, click on register.exe

all of a sudden, worked like a charm.
