Thanks Scott. The article was helpful, but I'm still slightly confused. Do I create it in Shopping Cart Creator, save it, then open it up in Shopping Cart Designer and design it?? Or have I really got the wrong end of the stick?? :/

You build your shop in the Cart Creator and save it there - so you add your products, Home Page, About Page, and other Page content.

You design your theme, or make alterations to the themes in Designer and save the theme which you would then import into the Cart Creator. Both can be open at the same time, and you can be working on both at the same time, but sometimes it's easier to work on one thing at a time, especially when you're starting out.

So you can, in theory, build your whole shopping cart in the cart creator, but you're stuck with the default themes. If you want to work on that first, you can work on a theme later as it will import into Cart Creator with all your work that you've done, or work on the theme first, then build the shopping cart. They are both separate programs that will integrate later. :)

Thanks guys! I know that they are really basic questions, and I thank you for your patience. But you are helping me, and very slowly I'm getting the hang of it. Still struggling to get SCDP to do what I want but I'll get there in the end.....:D

No, it's the right side of the stick ;)

What happens if your holding on to it with your left hand?:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Ok, still having a few problems: how do I know how big an image is in the theme? For example, I am playing around with the Gift Shop theme that is included with SCDP - the layout is what I'm after. I want to change the image in the centre of the page, but everytime I replace the image with my own, it's not the right size - either way too big or too small. How can I find out the dimensions of the images in use, so I can scale my image to be the same size?

Rachel, you find the spotlight images in Documents > CoffeeCup Software > Shopping Cart > Images > Shop Home. You also find all the other images such as backgrounds in the Images folder, under their various folder names.

The size for the Gift Shop image is 883 x 471.

However you don't need to make your image to that exact size if you don't want to. You can play around with the padding settings on the 4th tab along (right hand side), to make the text fit in with your image. On the first tab you can align the image so it's top, bottom, left, right etc. Hope that helps. :)

Hi Bren. Thanks for that, I went but there's nothing in the file Shop Home, just a "get more" file..........

THEN...........

I realised that I was trying to open it in WIS and not an image editor  My bad. I'm still getting used to the fact that you use 2 file types - the normal jpg's etc and the .wif file types - to design the webpage in VSD. Slowly but surely I'm getting there. If it wasn't for all you wonderful people here in the forum, I think I'd have told my partner to stick his website/webstore by now.......:P

When your browsing your graphics, right click on the graphic and select properties then details. A plethora of info will now be yours.:)

Ok, so I used Eric's advice about creating a duplicate page, but now I can' t find it. When I open up my site in the morning to work on it, it opens with my home page. How do I get to my other page that I created?

Rachel, Are you referring to the SCCP hack that I worked on with Bren?:)
