Flash Player not woorking in IE but...

My computer is Window Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I have been running IE 32 bit. I installed Firefox as a second browser to check my website appearance in both browsers. I have had clients say they cannot see some graphics etc using Firefox vs. IE.

When I did the install of Firefox, the software needed to have flash player installed so I went to Adobe and downloaded and installed it.

Now I cannot see any Flash in IE. I'm ok in Firefox but IE cannot see any Flash. I have tried to remove the flash player and re-install the newest version. I gone into IE to the Adobe site to doe the download. It still will not work. At the Adobe site is says once you see the moving graphic Flash Player should be working. I see the moving graphic but any Flash on a website does not work.

Anyone have any ideas. I've tried security issues etc but nothing is making sense.

To add I just downloaded my newest version of the CC Photo Gallery. In all the theme selections I see "is oops you forgot to upload swfobject.js" This is in the program not the IE browser.

Thanks very much

The flash player is browser specific. Not sure how or what tool you used to remove the flash player, but this link should help to completely remove the flash player from your computer. Then use either IE or FF to go to the adobe website and install. You will need to follow the install method with both browsers. The browser you access adobe with will be the one that gets the flash player. You should be able to install the player on both browsers and they will both play flash.

Having similar problem. Nothing shows up in IE, works fine in Safari, works fine in Opera and in Firefox one computer shows the animation fine while one sitting ten feet away shows it with a white background still in Firefox.

Downloaded and ran the uninstall tool mentioned, then went to the page and okayed it to install plug in. IE=Nothing! Firefox still black background on one and white on other. Safari & Opera still working flawlessly.

Any further ideas or advice?

Post a link. If it works for the rest of us, then it is a setting on the individual computers. If it is messed up for us, at least we can have a look and see if something is missing from the code.
Did you try it without the "fix for active content in IE" box checked? Maybe it's just a mouse click away from working properly, but without a link, it's hard to tell.

sbamper,

I went to the website in your email address to find your site. I cannot see the gallery in Firefox, but I can see the gallery in IE. Now...before blaming browsers, I checked some of the galleries I have built, and here is one for a client you can see that is working:
http://www.animal-outreach.com/takemehome.html
I can see that gallery in FF, as well as IE.

So, ruling out the browser, I took a peek at your source code and then your files for the gallery. Your gallery, myalbum, has an image...which you may want to take a look at. I believe it is in the 4th album...

image8="myalbum_files/portfolio2(2)(2)(3)(2)(2)(2)(3)(2)_s.jpg" bigimage8="myalbum_files/portfolio2(2)(2)(3)(2)(2)(2)(3)(2).jpg"

I am wondering if the browser is having a hard time rendering that through the program? I can pull it up in a browser (parenthesis and all...), but I am wondering if that is the issue. Might be worth a look :)

I use this program a lot on several sites, and it seems to me I have had an issue in the past with an image getting renamed when I rebuilt a gallery and then the gallery not working. Just try renaming the image both on the server and in the myalbum.xml file (remember to rename both the big and small images) and see if this helps :)
