I am new to CC and using VSD. When you have to edit/update your website...Do you need to first delete the original website files from your hosting provider or does VSD ftp software do the necessary file deletion when you re-publish it?

It's should only overwrite the files with the same name and directory structure. If you want any of the old files ftp them down to your pc for safe keeping.
