Hello,

I need to make a resto site. The resto has weekly suggestions so I want a way that my customar can upload a text that will be shown on the website.

Any idea's?

Maybe you should set them up with a CC Stream account :D Embed that on their page and viola, they are set. For more info check out the articles here:http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/search?tag=Streams especially this one:http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/how-to-enable-streams-with-s-drive/

Coffee cup has an SDrive service, you can set them up with an SDrive account that they can send their content to, and with the provided embedded code on the website their content will automatically appear.

@ david. thanks, I will have a look.
@ 5650post guy. Sorry for that. Resto means restaurant ;)

I think the problem can be split up in 2.

1) How do you get text from an end-user to a folder on a server where the web site is located?

2) How do you show text that is in a folder on that site?

Some other tips, anyone?

Hi Marc,

What I did to solve this problem is to teach the restaurant owner to upload PDF files with FTP (they make these PDFs -menus- themselves using Word and a 'print to PDF' printer). These PDF files then always have the same name (like 'main menu', wines', 'desserts', 'week menu', things like that) and I embed them into the site with an Iframe. If the customer uploads a new version of one of the files, it is automatically shown... See it in action here: www.jantjezageenspruimenhangen.nl . Click 'menukaart'.

Success, John

Hi John,

Thanks, looks a very original site too!

@ david. I know you want to sell your products but I thought it would go further than that.
I am looking for an easy way a web page will show a text file available in a folder on that web site.
I mean no disregard.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer.

I don't work for Coffee Cup and derive no monetary return from them, however an alternate solution is to use a php include statement or an Iframe call to pull information into a page.

Either of these solutions would require the person doing the update to have knowledge of FTP, and even HTML. The drawback is when they have access to the site to upload the content there is the potential of them mucking up things.
