Dumb HTML Editor question - Post ID...

Hi there,

I know what I'm trying to do is dumb, but there are reasons for it.
As well as writing normal web pages, one of the things I use the editor for is to write a monthly newsletter for people in the company. One feature I have is a series of links to regularly used documents held either on intranet pages or on servers that everyone can access.

My problem is when I create an anchor tag and put in the following "file://pathtofile/filename" everything works nicely.

To distribute, all I do is test in IE - one day firefox will add this feature - file > send to.

However, as soon as I save the file, the editor neatly strips my HTML of the file:// bit at the front of the link and leaves me with a "pathtofile/filename" which breaks the link.

I can't move the documents and don't want to replicate them.

Simple workaround is not to save before I send - but next month I know I'll forget (again).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Dave
