BTW Melissa, I did a google search for your site using the key words 'process server denver'. Your site came second. The one that came first was this one: http://www.checkmateinc.com/. What you could do is taking a peek into their code and 'steal' some of their meta tags, especially some of the keywords. ;)
Ha en riktig god dag!

Here's a thing from UK Google process server america and your no.33

I wonder if clients worldwide would be interested in you if you were on page 1

ie if you pointed a .co.uk domain name at your site you might get higher up the rankings in UK

Do keywords matter that more in the meta? I wasn't sure.

Or they may be doing it with lots of link backs? Or by paying for it?

No, but thanks. We generally get 99.99% of our business from inside the U.S. So many other countries don't even speak the same language, and it's difficult to keep up with the rules for service of all our states here. We sometimes get the odd serve from Canada, Australia or UK, but it's rare. So we set our marketing stuff up for the U.S. only, and if someone else sees us, that's cool. ;)

Do keywords matter that much anymore in the meta? I wasn't sure.

At any rate, it's worth a try, so thanks Inger!

Probably not, since Google creates their own, comprehensive list of keywords based on the relative occurance in your page text. These are the keywords that will actually be used for positioning in search results.

The <meta> keyword list may, instead, be used by Google as an "honesty test" of your site. If the list contains words that do not exist in your page text, the ranking will be penalized accordingly.

In my experience, links to your site from elsewhere can improve your search position significantly, but only if they are from "quality sites" as per Google's definition. If the links appear to originate from a "link farm", your site will be penalized.

When you get those inevitable requests for reciprocal back links, do not be tempted, they are after improving their ranking NOT YOURS

So if it wasn't keywords that brought that other site up to #1, I need to find out what it was, and how to bring mine up. :D
