I was just wonder why everything works in IE and things like the Alternative text does not work in FF or Safari??? and I had a heck of a time getting the layouts for the Photo gallery to work in them also......They are now working but the little "goodies" are not.....No biggie but......
Thank you
Glenn

That is because the "alt" attribute is not supposed to be displayed as a tool tip according to the W3C specifications and firefox follows the W3C specification.
This is why you are unable to see it in Firefox. However, users like the visually impared using special software will hear the image description and those who have the option not to display images will be able to read the image text in Firefox.

Don't know much about VSD but if you add this attribute to an image tag, you will get the same result.
title="Whatever"
title="Whatever"
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
title= "whatever" ????? really????? All I can do is try.....
Nothing........Thanks anyway......this is a real downer....sice most of my users have firefox...
in the current version, you would have to use the html tool to make the links to add the alt= attribute. or wait til 6.0 comes out which is soon I hope.
VSD already gives you the ability to set the alt attribute; what it lacks is the ability to set the title one (which I believe is the one that is supposed to show the tooltip when you hover). I don't believe 6.0 is going to add that feature.

Ok Spinny,
I'm confused, which lately hasn't been to hard.
your saying that If I use the html tool to add an image and include the alt attribute it won't work?
I used "whatever as the attribute here"
and this code -hover
sorry for being so lame.....although it doesn't work in FF

"whatever" will appear under the pointer in IE 6 and 7, but not IE 8 in standards mode or any other browser. You would need to use title="whatever" instead.
What Cary said. Also, you don't need to use the HTML tool to add alt text to an object, VSD 5.9.4 gives you a place to add it. You can certainly use the HTML tool to do the job, but it's not necessary.
It's the Title tag that you can't currently add without using the HTML tool.
