Just posted the test site on http://tomeckle.net a S-drive hosted site and tested it with Iphone, Nexus 7 both horizontal and vertical. Feel free to test with your phone and tablet and report results.

Eric
I did not know exactly how to fix the map issue so I change the frame width to make it a bit easier to get by I just used an existing template, without changes, to determine how the responsive design feature might work and also to get a look at the jquery script and responsive css. Then wanted to share with forum users at Coffee Cup in a "proof of concept" demonstration. I am sure you and others more experienced than I can write your own scripts and css to accomplish a similar result and perhaps share with myself and others less capable. Just wanted to clarify, that I did not create this site only used a template from artiseer..

Looks nice, Tom. Thanks for sharing. :)
Good to know about the map issue. I wonder if it's a Google map thing, or if any map would cause the same issue? (I've read that Apple devices are ditching Google maps for their own map service)

I found that it is the size of the iframe as it gets closer to the size of the monitor size the harder it is to navigate, making the frame smaller allows one to navigate using the edges. around the map...

i use a Chrome extension lets you pick various screen sizes and resolutions - use while i am programming in CC HTML editor doing previews....i think they have the same app for foxfire also...
you can set-up several previews set each to different screen size and and just do a refresh to each when you are tweaking for that right look.....

Something that's in a CC template as default code. The following comment:

"<!--[if IE]>
<script src="http://html5shim.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script>
<![endif]-->

What do y'all think? How is it used and what's the result if comment marks are removed?

I'm trying to understand why a page renders one way on my computer with Internet Explorer and then a different way (with menu items slightly moved) when uploaded to the Internet.

The page looks fine either way with SRWare Iron, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox - just off a hair with Internet Explorer (and not off a great deal, just enough to bug me since it's noticeable).

A person might think that if it looks okay with your computer's Internet Explorer while residing on your hard drive that it would look the same once you uploaded it to a server. A bit frustrating.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
