I am planning to start a online store, I have shopping cart software, but I don't know how to deliver the online goods (my paygate is PayPal). Therefore I would like to know if any of you have any experiences delivering electronic goods? Positive or negative?

And if any of you or some of the CoffeeCup-employees know how CoffeeCup admins the downloads, that would be awesome. Thanks.

I have a similar problem. Right now I am just experimenting with the shopping cart myself, but via another site I run, I have already set up a sales point for download items using Paypal for payment. When the customer pays for his download, I get a mail from Paypal confirming this, and giving me an email contact for the client. I - within 24 hours - contact the client with a url address and password to enter a protected area of the site where he can then download his package. The password remains valid for 72 hours.

This is not ideal as it means that I must close down the shop if I expect to be away for any reason and cannot immediately deal with the client download following payment.

I will be interested to see what other suggestions are offered in here.

Wait until they release the Shopping Cart Pro. It should be coming any time.

I have not tried it in this context but "PromaSoft AutoResponder" can filter content of emails and then start other programs.
Promasoft say it can "Launch external programs and use their output in your reply"

Or it could trigger a macro program like "Macro Express" that could then do almost anything, (like sending files, unlock codes etc.)

That is until Shopping Cart Pro is out and hopfully does it all for you
