From Gunsmoke in another thread:
Yea, kinda just found the same thing with CSS3 and using 'opacity' values. Semi-Transparent is the best anyone could offer. Thanks.

I pulled this out as this is something I have been toying with and figured there are others out there trying to get this working.

Gunsmoke, if you pop over to my test site there is where I was playing with opacity, how can we help :)

David, this was in reference to a VSD site. So, no HTML5, no CSS3 capabilities (at this time, anyway).
I think you'd have to use an Iframe to display an HTML5/CSS3 page?

That is kind of what I was thinking but I think the user is going with a purely text menu and just using 'hover over' now. Probably the best way to go.

Painbrush, I use CSS3 menu in my VSD site, but not with a transparent background. That's where I was losing it. You simply insert CSS3 menu into an HTML box in VSD and works like a champ. No iframe. Then just add the files to the VSD site and you're in business.

The CSS Menu is a bit different than inserting some custom code that relies on HTML5 and CSS3 along with boilerplates, shims, javascript, vendor-prefixes... whatever it takes to make it display properly in all browsers. I think VSD would have fits with making sense of it :o which is why the Iframe would be needed – to keep the HTML5 code from messing with VSD's code.

For opacity in VSD I'd suggest a wee semi-transparent image that you use as the background of a div. In a custom css file.

Hey Guys,

I inserted a CSS3 menu and it appears perfectly on my home page (sub menus as well) but when I go to other pages it randomly falls behind things that are on my page and in some instances you can't click on certain sub menus that fall within a white bounding box on the page. I have brought the menu to "top of page" on all pages and have moved everything that sits on all the pages as far back as I can without losing them. Is there some settings in the menu that I should be making that I'm missing? Any/all help is greatly appreciated as we are scheduled to make an announcement to visit the site this Thursday and I'm getting worried it won't be performing like I want it to. Please go to www.midlandparknj.org to see what I'm talking about. I'm also aware of certain pages being corrupt but I have a clue as to what that problem may be.

Thnaks again,
John

For VSD you'll have to use advanced text for text boxes to be able to set it forward or back.:) Other elements you should be able to "Object" "Arrange" send to back or forward.
