i am trying to create a background for my webpage that looks like the lines on a peice of notebook paper narrow ruled. Problem is that words don't match up on the lines unless i insurt text for each line.
any ideas would help? And yes i am new and don't have a clue.

Create a Photoshop file ot the text on paper. Save it as a background image, but save the PSD file so that you can go back and change the text.

Just use the background image and than add an inline CSS line-height property
