Images have been loading just fine, then suddenly I am getting a lot of the images corrupted. I have several pages with several image postings. Still working on the site, I have not published it yet. Any thoughts on this?

Without seeing it its hard to determine what might be wrong. What do you mean by "corrupted"? Do you get a little box with a red x in it? Make sure that all of your image files are in the correct folder that sometimes will cause this. But again, its hard without seeing something.

Images are fuzzy and badly degraded.

That usually means the website is making the images too large. When you preview the site are the images larger than what it looks like on your desktop? Do they look fuzzy on your desktop? if so, then just change the image size on your desktop.

Images have been 640 X 480 and 800 X 480. The bigger images are more likely to be bad. Is there an upper end on the size?

It's not as much about an upper end as it is trying make them as close as possible to the start size. Now if you have a program like photoshop you can adjust the size to make them bigger without losing quality (assuming they are the right format like .jpg or .png).
