Hi - I am real new at this, so please be patient with me. I created a form using the Form Builder. I saved the file and uploaded the files to my public_html directory on my website. But I need to get the form on a specific page using the Visual Site Designer. How do I actually get the form on that page? If I haven't been clear, please ask questions.

TIA,
Annette

When saving the form you have created, you'll see a box with all the files belonging to it on the left and the thml code to the right. On that right side is also a button saying 'Copy to clipboard'. Click that button, and open the html tool in VSD, paste the code as body html.

Thanks, Inger - that makes sense. But when I did as you said, I got a message that said "OOPS you forgot to upload filename.js". I thought I uploaded all the files that Form Builder told me to upload. Am I doing something wrong?

Annette,

I actually stopped writing in the middle of answering you. What I would have said, was that you don't use the form builder to upload, but VSD. There is - or at least there used to be - a dialogue box after you have inserted the code into the body of your document, saying something like 'Add files...' with three options, one of them being 'another CoffeeCup prog'. I wanted to be sure about the exact wording, so I tried doing the same here, but I didn't get that dialogue box, not even after re-downloading, reinstalling and all that. So what I will do is contacting CC and ask where they have stuck the missing 'Add files' dialogue box and then get back to you - unless someone else beats me to it, of course.

Make sure that you are using 5.8 When you have that installed, use the purple coffeecup icon on the left toolbar to add your form. This will bring a dialog box that allows you to browse for your form and then you are done. Just upload the pages after that.

Scott - thanks, that was easier than I thought it would be.

Wait, I spoke too soon.

When I preview the form, everything looks good. But when I go to the actual website I get the following: "OOPS! You forgot to upload swfobject.js ! You must upload this file for your form to work."

This means the swfobject which is suppose to be uploaded with the form is not present. what I would do is open the form and upload it again or as Miss Inger says open VSD go to settings, add files, look for your form files and add the swfobject file, and re-upload vsd.

Hmmm, looks as if I haven't done my homework properly... ;)

I tested the procedure described by Scott; Made the page first and saved it, then started Form builder within the VSD and made the form, saved it and uploaded it. (The swfobject.js was uploaded through the FTP client in the Form builder.)

Then I inserted the html bit into my page, saved and uploaded to the same location as the files pertaining to the Form builder. Result here: http://www.coffeecuphelp.com/inger

When previewing the page locally after having inserted the code from the Form builder, I keep getting this pesky 'Oops?' re the swfobject.sj, but on the web everything is ok.

The dialogue 'Add files...' seems to be something of the past as far as I can see. Well, I'd better hurry back to class and study ;)

Wait - so I have to make the form AGAIN from within VSD?

Could it be that I've uploaded the files to the wrong directory? I just uploaded them to the same directory as all other files - public_html - that's what my web host told me to do...

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
