Hi
We have almost the full suite of Coffee Cup software (except shopping cart) and looking for a website template that is designed for the real estate business and the website template is/ can be multi lingual? We prefer that the template be built from the ground up using Coffee Cup so we don’t run across issues (we know enough to be too dangerous to ourselves)

If we can’t find any Coffee cup based website templates for real estate, there is seems to be number of “others” but our concern is compatibility and work arrounds have to be done.

I see notice issues with multi lingual support in Coffee cup and I am not certain what other issues there might be. If you are aware of any issues with a website Template designed using brand X (say Dreamweaver or FrontPage (old),??) And then modifying the website template with Coffeecup, please let us know?
We would want the ability to add languages to the web site (we speak /write in a few, (English, Swedish, Finnish, German, French, Spanish and some Chinese & Italian
and please advice if the multi lingual support was resolved

Thank you in advance
Ralph & Virpi

Hiya ralph,

As far as using Coffee Cup Software with other themes (speaking mostly about the HTML Editor since it's really the only one that's entirely outside compatible with pretty much anything), you can use any theme you want to without any difficulties for the most part. You will see some code differences if the theme was built in a visual designer of some sort and then exported to HTML. It will have code that's more like Front Page and Word type systems for site building. Other than that there should be absolutely no reason why you can't use another them with the program.

If you're thinking of the Visual Site Designer to use for buiilding your site, that's where you'll find a bit more difficulty trying to utilize outside themes because you cannot import themes for other programs into the VSD program. The VSD program uses it's own system for building it's files and compacts them into a known file of it's own creation that is associated with VSD and not other types of builders. It can be exported out, but things cannot be exported in so it makes it more difficult to do what you need.

If you're looking at other programs please let us know which ones and we can give you ideas on if they are outside compatible also :)

It doesn't support UTF-8 yet, so a multilingual site could be a problem. I don't know about the next version which is coming maybe around the end of march I think I read.

Standard web templates shouldn't be a problem. Even templates created specifically for use with Dreamweaver's template system should work, as any other editor will simply ignore the comments in the template that are meant for use by Dreamweaver.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
