Changing static HTML to responsive...

I started this in the RLMP section but since I decided to try using RSD I am putting it over here.

I need some help or pointers on what I'm doing wrong or missing. I had some suggestions from Inger about changing the design which I've done but I have 'positioning, margin and padding' issues.

I don't have a clue about what I've done wrong with this file. I'm going to post my file and a link to my test site and maybe someone can tell me where to start to fix this. I'm doing this for a client that doesn't know about me changing their site. It's going to be a no cost upgrade. I'm just that kind of guy. :-)

Here's a link to my test site: http://mytestblog.net/harbor/

Couldn't attach my RSD file because the format isn't allowed so I'll have to put it up on my test domain and create a link. I'll post it in here later.

It's looking good so far. The best part about these new cc apps is you get to see what it does as you make changes so don't be afraid to try things.
If you want those large images at the bottom to stack take a look a float.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Eric,

The images are a Visual Lightbox gallery. I have to rebuild the gallery because it is set to two columns. That's not the part I was asking about. There are some settings that change at breakpoints that if I fix them they change somewhere else. It's driving me nuts.

I spent a lot of time this afternoon working with margins and padding to get where it is now and when I uploaded it to my test site the section with the days of the week are out of the box so to speak.

It looks sort of good in RSD.

I did a little more work trying to fix this mess. My test site is updated and my RSD file is also.

What is on my test site looks nothing like what I'm seeing in RSD.

I've had about a 16 hour day so I'm calling it a night.

Best movie ever Ernie!!! :)

Can you post a screenshot of what you see in RSD so we can compare the two?

Scott,

I'll try and up load a few screenshots. I optimised them so I may be able to get more than one uploaded at a time.

The file names tell where they were taken. RSD1 and RSD2 are from RSD. Anything with OnSite are from my test site.

Here's the rest of the screenshots. I have pointed out a couple of things but there are other things that are obvious.

Yea, I see inconsistencies ;)

Seems the main spacing problems arise because 'the grid' is not really used. Rows have different lengths for example. The dinner times could have been put in a different row to make them line up. Not sure why so many breakpoints are needed.

Getting the content and layout structured in Layout Maker first might not be a bad idea... I am happy to do a quick 1st setup if you like.
The future of web layout has arrived and it's called CSS Grid. CoffeeCup helps you to get ready with a free guide, the Grid Builder app plus cool demos & themes.

Bob,

I think that's what I'm going to do today. I do appreciate the offer but I think it's better if I do it myself.

I think I wound up with so many breakpoints trying to fix some of the issues. Actually there are two breakpoints in there that I didn't add myself.

Off to RLMP.
