Can't get Web form to upload with VSD
OK, I'm sorry, but I've read the threads on how to upload Web forms with VSD, but I still can't get the form to upload.
Yes, I've added the HTML script to the Body of the "add HTML" tool in VSD and I have also added any files attached and they still don't seem to upload. Maybe my confusion is where it says "add any other files" below the 'root directory'.... I suppose the 'root' directory is the website 'root' directory called "Test Website_website". Is that the root directory? Sorry about asking the basics here.
So I'm trying to upload a form called "Interested Customers". The exported file created is called "Interested Customer_exported"
Under that file is a "Interested Customer.php and a " Interested Customer" folder which contains:
common, fbapp, storage, theme and some files confirm.php, form.cfg.php, uid.php, user.cfg.php, validation_data
Do I have to specify all of these folders and files so they will upload?? Sorry , I've been trying to figure this out for a while:o Thanks for your help

Yes, In VSD you have to use the add files tool and manually set up the directory structure exactly as the form builder has them. Also your correct in thinking to add all the files to the root of your site. That would be all the files inside the myformname_exported. You can use a ftp client outside of VSD to upload the files. If you want the preview to work on your pc in VSD just change the script to absolute linking.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I use a different tack, I zip the files, upload and sometimes use my C panel to extract. For the preview I just copy the form folder and php file to the preview folder which in my case is
C:\Documents and Settings\MyName\Local Settings\Temp\vsd_tmpdir. It gets a bit crowded in there after a while so I save the form folders flash files and clean out the rest. It gets replaced the next time a preview is done.
So that is two methods you can use.

I would do it this way:
http://www.coffeecup.com/help/articles/ … d-website/
Adding the files/folders to VSD would be extremely difficult given the structure of the form.

You could use an Iframe. That's easy to do and works flawlessly.

Thanks all for your input. Scott, I noticed all the options that you pointed to involve using S-Drive. Is Form Builder only compatible with S-Drive? Even the "Adding your form with a manual external server set-up" uses S-Drive. I have privacy and security concerns about going to a "3rd Party" (Coffeecup S-Drive) database to process my information. I would rather use MySQL database within the website server of justhost.com for security purposes.

At the top of the article there are 3 sets of instructions:
Using the Publish Toolbar Icon
Export > Automated Form Processing
Export > Manual Server Setup
You would use the Export > Manual Server Setup for use on your own servers.

Prism, it sounds like you use justhost and their Cpanel.....it looks like their version of PHP is 5.1.63, have you had any problems with getting Forms Builder to run on their server?
jeffh I use Just host, and have had no problem setting up my forms, once i realised i was uploading the wrong folder.
make sure you look inside the exported folder, and upload all the contents of the next folder that appears.
(ie) do not upload the exported folder contents, they wont work double click on that folder, and double click on the next folder and upload whats inside

My host supports the latest php etc. As I said to preview I do insert the html in the page and copy the form folder and php to the preview folder to view it. I actually zip the folder and file and upload and extract online.
In the form folder there is a html file of the form only. I sometimes transfer all files to a folder in the Wamp www area to test mainly to work on output from the form before going live.
The forms produced by the WFB are solid, I have thrown a lot at them and they are bullet proof.
Basically VSD uploads the files to the root folder usually your public_html one. The form in the page is looking for the form folder off the root folder.
Once you get the structure nailed it works seamlessly
As Viv says the folder and php file is one level down from the exported form folder
