P.S. Ach! The program running under Jim doesn't know where the default theme folder is! Back under Admin, sure enough, all default themes appear.

When I went back to Jim and showed the program where the new Deep_Red cct file was, it dutifully created a new My Themes folder under the Jim's My Documents and put the Deep Red files there [in a rather convoluted path but that's another tale].

BUT the program running under Jim cannot locate the default themes that the program installed (Default Themes, Default Layouts, HTML5 Themes, HTML5 Layouts, Center Stage, Crossbeam, etc.).

Any idea on what files / directories to copy to fix that? I'm to tired to troubleshoot right now. Back in the AM.

It sounds like you are not using the HTML Editor 2010SE version. Any version prior to that will not be able to open the .CCT theme file.

@Jo Ann: This installation program is not multi-account aware. It always assume the installer is the user and has admin rights. In our case, with children and grandchildren, each has their own login accounts and programs are installed by Grandpa only using the Admin account. In regular usage, Grandpa has his own standard NOT-admin login. This may account for our ZERO (0) problems with bugs, viruses, etc etc (that and Norton but who's complaining).

@Scott: The About images indicates that this is HTML Editor 2010SE Build 369 (see first attached image). I am guessing that the program assumes that the installation is being done directly into a specific User account. This is a common issue with installation programs because most people don't know any better and run their computers in admin mode all the time; IMHO a dangerous and foolhardy approach in this day and age.

In THIS particular case, the MARKUP directory was under the Admin login thus unavailable to the Jim login (me). I copied the directory over and it can now be seen (see second attached image).

But this brought up another problem. The "official" installation includes several variaeites of themes (regular, HTML5, etc) (see third attached image). Rather than barging around the files in the installation, could you just point out the files that need to be copied (from Admin to Jim) and any INI file edits that need to be made.

Thank you kindly (for the assistance and the great program)!

P.S. In re to the #780 post that mentions Windows 7 and Vista, the issue I mentioned to Jo Ann really pops out under these two OS's because they were the first to rigidly enforce a lot of the security rules that 2K / XP have but don't always enforce. Especially in regard to who could install what and where. My original HTML editor from tube steak ran headfirst into this problem when it moved from Win9x to Win2K (and subsequently died which turned out to be a blessing as it led me to CoffeeCup! :-)

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
