See my reply in the messages where you finally got the form to work.

I couldn't tell you why dragging with the mouse chooses to align the text in only certain spots, but you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to be more precise (movess in smaller increments than the dragging allows).

Edit: perhaps I can tell you why. I just now noticed there's a Grid Settings under Edit in the menu that gives you the option to uncheck "Snap to Grid." That should solve your problem.
