Anyone Use TemplateMonster.com? -...
I've been checking for ideas and templates on www.templatemonster.com. It's a neat looking site. And after much digging (because it's search engine is very limited) I've finally found a few designs that have flame elements in flash. I'd like to see about buying the template and then changing it for my needs. However, looking at some of the questions in this forum, it seems that buying a template, without Adobe might be a bad idea?
Has anyone been able to successfully take a flash site from this website and be able to adapt it using any of the coffee cup software? I love the stuff I've used so far with you guys, but I'm totally behind in flash.
If firestarter is an easier way to create a site than to take a template and convert it, that would be good info too.
As you can see, I'm a volunteer firefighter, looking to revamp my dept's site.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi If I may ask what kind of flame elements are you looking for?
Background full flames, text flames?header flames?
Can we see your other site to get an idea of what your needing? I am curious to the flames part. Thanks.

There are flash sites, which are sites that are entirely flash, and then there are sites with some flash elements on them.
The second type sounds like what you want because you don't have the means to edit and modify a flash site. Flash animations of flames can be inserted into a regular site using just the HTML Editor. No flash software required if you can get hold of a suitable animation.
An all-flash site would also be a problem for a fire department website, if that's what you're revamping, as an all-flash site would have accessibility limitations which you don't want to hamper your visitors with.

I'm looking for all of the above. Background elements, button highlights, page transistions, header.
On www.templatemonster.com , template # 18057 are the type of effects I'd like to do. Unfortunately, even though buying their template would save me an enormous amount of time, it sounds like it wouldn't be compatible with anything from coffee cup. I have Ulead photoimpact, so I'm hoping maybe I can convert the flash stuff from there to something coffee cup can use. Or I can create the same kind of flame action with coffee cup. I'm just not familiar enough with flash yet to know.

That is a very nice Template for sure Karen. But I don't think you will get that effect in Coffeecup programs. You would have to go with the flash editor like Macromedia or something to get close, and know flash to edit it. If you got the patients maybe just maybe it can be done with alot of trial and error of course, but that is up to you sorry. Might have to gothe cheap way around and use a flame BG image without the movement. hopefully someone else can chime in to their ideas. Good luck.
Does coffeecup have any flame graphics that can be used? I was kind of bummed when I looked at firestarter, but I didn't see any templates for anything.
Hi Karen, Found several fire/flame javascripts at http://www.scripts.com/java-scripts/. Lots of really neat stuff. Maybe they would be helpful.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
