Whole site blocked out? - Post ID 150439
Hi at keithmj.com I installed this program and when I try to access my site I need to put in my user name and password. I have two users made up to test it and I want to block the keithmj.com/programs.html page. Can someone check this and see if it is keeping you out of the whole site or just the programs page? Does it take time for everything to catch up? Thanks..Keithmj
Hiya Keith,
Yep whole site is blocked. You need to adjust that in the program to tell it exactly what it is you want blocked as right now it's thinking you're doing the whole domain.

It is immediate. It appears you have blocked the root directory.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Thanks..I keep removing the access and the program keeps putting it back? I did it this time and it works..I'll just keep playing with it..
If the program is putting it back, then you have it set in the program somewhere to tell it to do that. You'll need to find in the program, where you have it setup to do that and take that part out. Look for the area that you have files listed for any accounts you have setup for it or any site locations you have setup for it and make sure you don't have the root directory listed in there at all.
If you have any accounts setup at all, including one for yourself, check each one for any paths setup in them because if you have that root directory in any one of them it then blocks it for everyone except them. That's most likely where the issue is.

Got it taken care of..Works great..Just another question..If you cancel login or get a bad login you get the "Authorization Required" page. Is there a way to have it go to a specif page or back to the login box? If so does anyone have the script or text for it? Thanks..Keithmj

Well there really is no "login" box connected with WAM at all. It's actually opening an internet based (can't remember what it's called at the moment lol) login box that is default to the internet not to the program. Same exact box you get when you try to login to your server's cPanels and such. There's no way to have it go directly to that box other than putting the links in that go directly to the files/pages/urls etc that you have the protection on.
Having said that, there may be a way in WAM (I haven't played with any of this part yet) to create customized error pages that might include the link in question?

If you think about it, this will make sense. Because you have not authenticated yet, you are not giving that user access to the page. Simply even redirecting them to a page would give them access to something.
